Where is the Perseverance rover on Mars?

Computing…

Perseverance landed in Jezero crater on 18 February 2021. Billions of years ago, a river flowed into this crater and built a delta in a lake, the kind of place where traces of ancient microbial life could be preserved. The car-sized rover drills rock cores and seals them in tubes for a future mission to bring back to the Earth; it carried the small helicopter Ingenuity, the first aircraft to fly on another world. It has since climbed out of the crater onto its rim. The position here is the latest one published by NASA from the rover’s driving logs, so it can lag a few days behind.

Questions and answers

How fast does Perseverance drive?

Its top speed is about 150 m per hour, and it usually drives a few hundred metres on a good day, often steering itself.

Has Perseverance found life?

Not so far. It has found rocks that formed in water and features that could be signs of past life, but only studying the samples on Earth could tell.
